Eggs and Legs etc
May 11, 2010
We have been a busy bunch here at Art and Clay in the last couple of weeks;
We have been beavering away at fundraising and have finally put in our bid to Big Lottery for core posts. We are currently working on smaller bids and hope to be running a programme from our studios by summer.
Lee has been continuing with his egg-shaped pottery experiments. His latest pot is an experiment in paper clay.
Our local portrait artist Laura has been drawing members of the local community. This is very popular with all ages and Laura’s ears get thoroughly bent listening to life stories.
We have been busy supporting a local art student to make complex moulds of her latest project
Local amputee Peter wants us to help him cast a new leg for himself . Watch out for our progress with this project!
We took part in the relaunch event at Bentham Community Centre. Lots of people had a go at throwing pots on a wheel for free. Thanks to Louis Reed and Pauline Batchelor.
We are always happy to help out at local events, so keep an eye out for news.
We are looking forward to working with Rowan Arts on their Open Studio event 25th June – 4th July.
